Well, we cant just give it to you but if you have a Birthday wishlist with us you’ll be a lot closer to having lots of our cool stuff. All you have to do is come in, tell us what items you’d like on your wishlist,we give you cards to let everyone know you have a wishlist with us, they come in and buy gifts off that list. Calling all budding Scientists!!!

The brain is excited to announce that we have a cool range of Green Science Projects for you to build and learn from. There’s a Spinning Top Generator, Solar Science kit, Clean Water Science, Dynamo Torch, Enviro Battery and a Windmill Generator. That should keep you busy for a while and if you could learn ways to look after the environment while you’re at it the Brain would be very pleased! The Brain likes it when people learn new things!!!

Wednesday Road Trips

What better way to spend a cold winter’s day at school than playing with an assortment of Inquizitive games and puzzles. On Wednesdays Louise is traveling to schools to let students, parents and teachers have hands on experience with an assortment of them to see how best they can be used in the classroom and at home. If you would like Louise to visit your school, have your teacher give us a call and arrange a day. The brain highly recommends it for a good day in!!!

The brains going to have trouble sleeping tonight! The guys from Mind Challenge who are responsible for games such as Kaleidoscope Classic, Kogworks, Blokus etc etc and most recently Race Around the World will be in our store on Saturday the 26^th of June from 11am. What a great opportunity to meet them and find out exactly how such cool games are invented. It’s also a great chance to pick their brains if you are thinking of entering the Exercise Your Mind Challenge. Keep the date free. It’s going to be a great day!!!

Official launch of Race Around the World

In late 2009 four very clever grade 6 school girls from Riverside Primary School submitted an entry for the “Exercise Your Mind Challenge” Competition, run by the Queensland based, Dr. Wood Challenge Centre in conjunction with Inquizitive.

What the girls didn’t know at the time was their clever idea had the makings of a block-buster puzzle! Mind Challenge Ltd, the company behind the Dr Wood brand not only awarded the girls first prize but proceeded to license the puzzle concept for worldwide commercialisation. “Race Around the World” is now being published in 14 languages and marketed in 28 countries around the world.

“Race Around the World” was officially launched to the Toy Industry at the Australian Toy Fair in Melbourne in March to critical acclaim. With only a few weeks in the market, it has already been nominated for this year’s Australian Puzzle of the Year by the Australian Games Association.

The official launch and presentation of the puzzle is being held at Inquizitive on Saturday 26^th June at 11am, where the four girls will be presented with their puzzle and prizes which they won for being the overall competition winner.

The Dr Wood Challenge Centre CEO, Vishal Mehrotra and General Manager, Ben Pusztai will be flying in from the Gold Coast to present the awards to the girls, along with the Director of Inquizitive, Louise Smith.

The end of an era!

On Saturday 12th June, Inquizitive will be saying goodbye to one of it’s longest serving team members! Alyssa (the one who does all the really cool paper fashion designs) has decided to pack her bags and go an explore our wonderful country. Alyssa joined Inquizitive in August 2007, when she was a school girl at Kings Meadows High School. We all wish you well, travel safely and we will miss you – Alyssa!

The Brain is sure you’ll all be very excited to hear that Race Around the World, the game that the girls from Riverside Primay School invented in the Exercise Your Mind Challenge is now in production in a huge way. The game is now on our shelves and we all love it, love it, love it!!!!! Drop in, have a look and take on one of the 24 challenges. Will you scale Mount Everest or take a trip around New Zealand? Well done Katelyn, Elisabeth, D’nykia and Michelle. The Brain is so very very proud!!

The Melbourne Toy fair is almost here!!!

The Brain can hardly stand the excitement. Not only will Inquizitive be there to check out all the new and exciting games and puzzles that are being released in 2010 and receiving our award for being chosen as Australian Toy retailer of the year, students from Riverside Primary will be there to receive their awards for having won the Exercise Your Mind Challenge. Their game will be officially launched at the Toy Fair and will be on the shelves of Inquizitive VERY soon!
